Jean-Yves Chouinard

Jean-Yves Chouinard received the B.Sc.A., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from Université Laval, Laval, QC, Canada, in 1979, 1984, and 1987. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Space and Radio Communication Division, Centre National d’études des Télécommunications (CNET), Paris, France.

From 1988 to 2002, J.-Y. Chouinard was a professor at the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa. Since 2003 is with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Université Laval.

His research interests are communications theory and applications, broadband wireless systems, and advanced broadcast technologies.

He is co-editor of several books and book chapters on information theory, software reconfigurable MIMO wireless communication systems and OFDM-based mobile broadcasting.

He has been the Publications Chair for the IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory and a General Co-chair for the Canadian Workshop on Information Theory. He is a Technical Program Co-chair for the upcoming 2012 Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC’2012 Fall) in Quebec City, Canada. He is also a Director of the Canadian Society of Information Theory (CSIT). He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting.
