Sonia Aïssa

Sonia Aïssa (S'93-M'00-SM'03) received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 1998.

Since then, she has been with the National Institute of Scientific Research-Energy, Materials, and Telecommunications (INRS-EMT), University of Quebec, Montreal, QC, Canada, where she is a Professor.

Her research interests lie in the area of wireless and mobile communications, and include radio resource management, performance evaluation, design and analysis of multiple antenna (MIMO) systems, and cross-layer design and optimization, with a focus on cellular, Ad Hoc, and Cognitive Radio networks.

She has served as a Guest Editor of the EURASIP journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, Associate Editor of the IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine and the Wiley Security and Communication Networks Journal and is currently an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and the IEEE Communications Magazine.
