Sofiène Affes

Sofiène Affes received the Diplôme d'Ingénieur in telecommunications in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree with honors in signal processing in 1995, both from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, France.

Currently he is Full Professor at INRS-ÉMT, University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada, in the Wireless Communications Group.

His research interests are in wireless communications, CDMA/MC-CDMA/OFDM, statistical signal and array processing, adaptive/cognitive space-time processing, MIMO, and channel parameter estimation.

Prof. Affes holds a Canada Research Chair in Wireless Communications since 2003. He has served as a Lead Guest Editor of a special issue of the EURASIP Journal on Applied Signal Processing published and currently acts as a member of Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and the Wiley Journal on Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing.

Prof. Affes served as General Co-chair of the IEEE VTC'2006-Fall, Montreal, Canada: for his contribution to the success of this conference edition, he received in September 2008 the VTC Chair Recognition Award from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society.
